This new tourism initiative will gather the culture and history of the Christian tradition of the capital between February 1st and 19th, 2020. Córdoba in purple completes the tourist range to promote the four cultures of the capital, next to the Roman (Kalendas), the Islamic (Nights of Ramadan) and the Jewish (Sephardic Autumn).
With this initiative, Córdoba intends to recover, make visible and expose different aspects of Christian Córdoba, without entering the religious plane, revealing history, culture and different artistic manifestations, from architecture, sculpture, painting, music, literature and even theater, cinema and photography.
Among the activities that are proposed to be included in the Córdoba program in Purple are tourist visits to the city and to buildings such as castles, convents, mansions, stately homes, as well as theatrical routes and exhibitions, workshops for adults and children. Likewise, experts from the University of Córdoba and other universities will offer several conferences and, on the other hand, the gastronomy of the time will be rescued with workshops to savor traditional recipes such as porridge or pestiños, as well as conventual sweets.
